___ DEEP ANALYSIS OF THE FORM OF THE OBJECT.
___ PROCESS OF BRAINSTORMING OVER THE 100 OF DIFFERENT IDEAS OF USING/SHOWING/CREATING BY OBJECT OR ITS SEPARATE ELEMENTS.
___ READING SUPPORTING LITERATURE TO TRANSLATE THE FORM INTO VISUAL LANGUAGE.
___ EXPERIMENTS WITH TOOLS AND MATERIALS, COLOR AND LIGHT, STATIC POSITIONS AND MOVEMENT.
___ FURTHER RESEARCHES TO FIND CONNECTION BETWEEN OBJECT AND POSIBLE VISUAL TRANSLATIONS.
OBJECT
The central object of my form research is from hardware store. It consists of the following details: a stainless steel U-bolt , Plate and 2 Hex Nuts. They can be putted together and exist as one object or «live separate lives». This object is non-magnetic.
POSSIBLE IDEAS
The central object of my form research is from hardware store. It consists of the following details: a stainless steel U-bolt1, Plate2 and 2 Hex Nuts3. They can be put together and be as one object or «live separate lives». This object is non-magnetic.
IDEA
My object is from hardware store, so I decided to try to make a pattern on something from the same place. I choose peach paint chip sample and silver spray paint to show traces of my object. This combination looks soft (thanks to its delicate peach color), but at the same time does not lose the feeling of nuts and plates that are part of my object.
PROCESS
PROCESS DESCRIPTION:
Firstly, I put on gloves to protect our skin. After that placed a peach paint chip sample on the background. Sprayed some paint on the object, covering the part of the ample with a piece of paper. Replaced the object further and repeat spraying till the end of the sample.
However the first example might be not perfect, I repeated the process few more times. Everytime I experimented with the position of my object, so I got different results. When samples dried, I scanned them and used Photoshop to create pattern.
SUPPLIES:
U-bolt, plate, 2 hex nuts, Silver Spray Paint «Color Splash», Paint Chip Sample, gloves,
paper, background.
paper, background.
FINAL PATTERNS
After all experiments with spray paint and color chip samples I decided to keep some of them on peach background and to turn in black&white/black&silver patterns. Pattern is a repeated decorative design.
CLOTHES
Fabric is the main material on which we can use the pattern. Clothing is the most common use of fabrics in everyday life.
INTERIOR
The next option to use the pattern is to insert it to interiors. We can apply it to wallpapers, pillow cases, curtains, sofas and chairs, plates and mugs or use it as a pattern on other decorative elements and surfaces.
EX. Office lobby is a great place, where we can apply pattern to make room recognizible.
